13.5"W x 3"D x 25"H - Indonesia - Wood
Timor Island, in the Lesser Sunda Islands, has a long history of influx of populations going back to the early 1500s when Portuguese traders set up a base there while trading sandalwood. They are synonymous with these primitive statues which are protectors of the island and carved into wood panels. This wood carved panel has been placed on a stand to display a tribal and rustic piece of art.
